Overview and story of Beyond Good And Evil 2

Little is known about the plot, but official materials say that this is an adventure game, which is the background of the first part.

Recall that the last time the events unfolded in 2435, and the main character was a journalist Jade, recruited by some rebel organization. Her task was to covertly film an alien conspiracy. In the course of events, Jade got into different situations, and the gamer had to decide every time what is good and where is evil.

Of course, the new game goes to a fundamentally different level. There was an opportunity to introduce additional characters, to express more emotions in the gameplay.

And the levels of the game have become more diverse. The developers were inspired by the Miyazaki universe, embodied their own original ideas, drew inspiration from political news releases and even climate reports.

So, although the game was originally supposed to develop an already told story, its events, unexpectedly for all fans, were returned to the past, long before Jade was born, and the main character in the new project will also be different.

Interestingly, only three parts were planned. Moreover, the author of the original idea, Michel Ancel, has repeatedly said that he has many new ideas.

But it is not yet clear whether the story will continue, given the pace of development and the company’s reluctance to finance a risky project.

It remains to rejoice at the release of the second part of the project, although the publisher did not name specific dates in the press release. However, presenting a video with computer graphics of this level, he has already made a serious bid.

And now you have to try not to deceive the fans of the original game, who have retained affection for it for such a long time.

In the summer of 2012, the July issue of Official PlayStation Magazine revealed another interview with Michel Ancel. Here’s what he has to say about Beyond Good & Evil 2:

“This is a very personal project. Something I would like to finish and do. Unfortunately, it takes a lot of time.” Going on to explain why development has taken and continues to take such a long time, Ansel called his project an ambitious one that the team sees as their dream game. “It’s not a game we’re working on as a core development. It’s a mixture of research done in 3D. And it’s ambitious because we’re making the game of our dreams.”

“Some games you wait 10 years and only get disappointed. However, games take a long time to make for a variety of reasons. For example, many reboots in the development process. In our case, this is not the case. We conduct extensive research and simulate large cities and the environment .It really takes a lot of time and also requires learning a lot of technical aspects.”

And the last interesting detail of the interview – despite the fact that the movements of the main character in the leaked gameplay video are similar to Faith’s run from Mirror’s Edge, Michel stated that he “prefers the style of movement of the silent assassin more – like from Assassin’s Creed. And the camera will be appropriate. That race segment, of course, did not disclose this.”
